DVDPlay: Malayalam movies first, then Tamil, Hindi, English, Telugu and Kannada, in one quick list

Namaskaram, and welcome to DVDPlay. This is the quick list for Malayalam cinema and everything around it: the newest Malayalam films at the top, the Tamil, Hindi, English, Telugu and Kannada releases beside them, and the web series with every season and dated episode. It keeps the light, fast layout DVDPlay was known for, a dark title bar, orange section bars and line after line of titles, so it opens in a moment even on a weak signal.

Every title has its own page with the poster, the story, the stars, the director and the runtime, and a blue Watch Now button that opens it on the services carrying it in your country. This page is the long guide, from Spadikam to Drishyam 3, from Premalu and Manjummel Boys to Leo and RRR, and from Kerala Crime Files to Reacher. Pick a section below or read straight through.

The name and the quick list

DVDPlay was one of the best-known Malayalam movie names online, and the pages people remember came from dvdplay.best in late 2021, dvdplay.guru in early 2022 and dvdplay.lol in the summer of 2022. They all looked the same: a dark bar with the site name, an orange Recent Updates bar, and a long list of new titles, each line reading something like Movie Name (2022) Malayalam HDRip, then Click here.

Under the list sat a search box and an orange Select Category bar with seven lines: WEB TV Series, Malayalam Movie, Tamil Movie, Hindi Movie, English Movie, Telugu Movie and Kannada Movie. A More Service bar pointed to Site Partners, and a grey footer closed the page. It was built for phones, for quick loading, and for people who knew exactly what they wanted.

This DVDPlay keeps that spirit. The layout is the same quick list, measured from those pages, and underneath sits a real catalogue: a page for every title, every season and dated episode for every web series, and a Watch Now button that leads to the licensed services in your country.

Dark bar, orange bars, red titles

The top of every page is the same dark slate bar, with DVDPlay in white and a red HD beside it, and a thin red line underneath, just like the original. At the right sits a small Categories button that opens the full category list on phones.

The section bars are the orange the original used everywhere, with white bold lettering: Recent Updates, Select Category, New Episodes, More Service. The rows under them keep the original's three colours: the title in a bright red-pink, the language and length in grey, and Click here in orange. The category lines are red on white, separated by thin grey hairlines, and turn light grey when you touch them.

The only rounded shapes are the blue pill buttons, Next Page and Watch Now, which is exactly how the original drew its pager. The type is Trebuchet MS and Tahoma, the fonts already on your phone, so everything loads straight away.

The home page

The home page starts where the old one did: Recent Updates. Under the orange bar, a line shows the Last Update date, and then thirty of the newest titles follow, Malayalam first and then the rest, each on its own line. Malayalam films and series alternate with the latest Tamil, Hindi, English, Telugu and Kannada releases, so the list always leads with Kerala.

A blue Next Page pill leads to the full latest list. Below it comes the grey search strip, then Select Category with every category line, from WEB TV Series and Malayalam Movie down to the star shelves for Mohanlal, Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil and Tovino Thomas, the years, the new episodes and the A-Z list.

Further down come New Episodes, a Malayalam Movie list, a Mohanlal and Mammootty list, a WEB TV Series list, and More Service with the help pages. This guide sits at the very end.

Reading a row

A row on DVDPlay reads like one short sentence. First comes the title with its year in red-pink, for example » Premalu (2024). Then, in grey, the language and a note: Malayalam HD 2h 36m for a film, or Malayalam Web Series Season 1–2 for a series. Then Click here in orange.

The whole row is a link, so tap anywhere on it. The language is the most useful part of the line: one look down the list tells you what is Malayalam, what is Tamil and what is Hollywood, and the length tells you whether it is a two-hour evening or a series for the week.

Search results, category pages and My List all use the same rows, so everything on DVDPlay reads the same way.

A title page

Tap a row and the title page opens with the orange bar carrying the title, year, language and type. Below it, on the familiar light grey panel, sits the poster, and then the details, each line starting with the same » mark as the lists: language, release date, runtime, genres, stars, director, country, studio, rating out of ten with its vote count, status and quality.

Next comes the Storyline, then two blue pill buttons: Watch Now and Add to My List. Watch Now jumps to the grey Where to Watch box, where you choose your country and open the title on JustWatch. For a web series, the Seasons and Episodes list follows with a line for every season.

At the bottom, a More Malayalam Movies list, or the same for whatever language the title is in, suggests ten more to watch next.

Malayalam in 2026

2026 is a big year for Malayalam cinema. Drishyam 3 brings Georgekutty's story to its next chapter, with Mohanlal and Meena back, and Patriot brings Mammootty and Mohanlal together on screen. Bethlehem Kudumba Unit pairs Nivin Pauly with Mamitha Baiju, and Athiradi teams Basil Joseph with Tovino Thomas.

Vaazha II follows the young gang from the 2024 hit, Mollywood Times stars Naslen, and Balan - The Boy, Dridam, Bharathanatyam 2 Mohiniyattam and Sambhavam Adhyayam Onnu round out a busy year.

New Malayalam films usually reach the streaming apps a few weeks after their cinema run. Add them to My List and check Watch Now when they arrive.

Malayalam in 2025

2025 started a new universe and continued an old one. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, with Kalyani Priyadarshan as a woman of mysterious powers in Bengaluru, became one of the biggest Malayalam hits ever and launched a superhero series. L2: Empuraan continued the Lucifer story with Mohanlal, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Thudarum reunited Mohanlal and Shobana in a gripping family thriller, Rekhachithram was a clever investigation into a decades-old case, and Officer on Duty gave Kunchacko Boban a tense police drama. Mammootty led Kalamkaval and Dominic and the Ladies' Purse, and Pranav Mohanlal led the horror film Diés Iraé.

Sarvam Maya, Eko, Sumathi Valavu, Maranamass and Identity add comedy, mystery and action to a strong year. The 2025 list has them all.

The golden year of 2024

2024 was the year Malayalam cinema was talked about across India. Manjummel Boys told the true story of friends who journey into a deep cave to rescue one of their own, and it filled cinemas far beyond Kerala. Premalu, the romantic comedy with Naslen and Mamitha Baiju, became the feel-good hit of the year.

Aavesham gave Fahadh Faasil the unforgettable gangster Ranga, Bramayugam turned Mammootty into a terrifying figure in a black-and-white horror film, and The Goat Life followed Prithviraj Sukumaran through years of survival in the desert. Kishkindha Kaandam was the thinking person's thriller.

A.R.M - Ajayante Randam Moshanam, Marco, Turbo, Sookshmadarshini, Pani, Vaazha, Bougainvillea and I Am Kathalan all came the same year, and All We Imagine as Light won the Grand Prix at Cannes.

Malayalam in 2023

2023 set the stage for the golden run that followed. 2018 told the story of the Kerala floods through dozens of ordinary lives and became the biggest Malayalam film of its year. Romancham, a comedy about bachelors and a Ouija board, came out of nowhere to become a word-of-mouth sensation.

RDX: Robert Dony Xavier was the martial-arts action hit of the Onam season, Kannur Squad sent Mammootty's police team across India, and Kaathal - The Core quietly became one of the most discussed films of the year. Iratta and King of Kotha brought the darker, grittier side.

Neymar, about two friends and a dog, and Pranaya Vilasam, a gentle romance across two generations, are the easy watches. Curry & Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case is the documentary about one of Kerala's most chilling true crimes.

The Mohanlal shelf

The Mohanlal Movies shelf covers four decades of Lalettan. From the classics come Spadikam, with Aadu Thoma and his dark glasses, Kaalapani, the prison epic set in the Andamans, Guru, Aaram Thamburan and Narasimham, the mass entertainer every Malayali can quote.

Then come Udayananu Tharam, Twenty 20 with its huge ensemble, and Run Baby Run. Drishyam, Drishyam 2 and Drishyam 3 made Georgekutty one of the most famous characters in Indian cinema, and Lucifer and L2: Empuraan made Stephen Nedumpally an icon.

Loham, Odiyan, Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea, Bro Daddy, Monster, Thudarum and Patriot complete a shelf that could fill a year of Friday nights.

The Mammootty shelf

Mammukka's shelf shows one of the most adventurous careers in Indian cinema. Big B introduced the stylish Bilal, Pranchiyettan & The Saint is the gentle comedy about a rich man who wants to be remembered, and Pathemari tells the story of a Gulf migrant across decades.

The last few years have been extraordinary. Bheeshma Parvam is a stylish family gangster saga, Rorschach a strange revenge thriller, Kaathal - The Core a quiet, brave drama about a marriage, and Bramayugam the black-and-white horror that stunned everyone. Kannur Squad follows a police team across India, and Turbo is pure action.

CBI 5: The Brain brings back Sethurama Iyer, and Kalamkaval, Dominic and the Ladies' Purse and Patriot are the newest. The Mammootty Movies shelf lists them all.

Fahadh Faasil

Fahadh Faasil is the actor many film lovers across India discovered through Malayalam cinema. His shelf runs from 22 Female Kottayam, Annayum Rasoolum and North 24 Kaatham to Bangalore Days, Varathan and Take Off.

Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum is his sly thief in a police station, Trance his motivational speaker turned preacher, and Joji a Macbeth set on a Kerala rubber estate. Aavesham gave him Ranga, the gangster with a heart of gold, and Bougainvillea a sharp thriller.

He also turns up across the South: in Vikram and Vettaiyan in Tamil and as the unforgettable villain of Pushpa: The Rise and Pushpa 2 - The Rule. The Fahadh Faasil shelf gathers them.

Dulquer Salmaan

Dulquer Salmaan's films have a warmth all their own. Ustad Hotel follows a young man who wants to be a chef and ends up learning life from his grandfather in Kozhikode. Charlie is the dreamy tale of a free-spirited wanderer, and Kali a story about a young man learning to control his temper.

ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi and CIA: Comrade In America take him abroad, 100 Days of Love and Oru Yamandan Premakadha are the romances, Solo is an anthology of four stories, and King of Kotha is his big gangster saga.

And Bangalore Days puts him alongside Nivin Pauly, Nazriya Nazim and Fahadh Faasil in one of the most loved Malayalam films of all.

Tovino Thomas

Tovino Thomas grew from supporting roles into one of Malayalam cinema's biggest stars, and his shelf shows the journey. 7th Day, ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi and Guppy are the early ones, Godha the wrestling romance, and Maradona the gritty drama.

Minnal Murali made him a superhero, the tailor from a small village who is struck by lightning, and it became a Netflix hit worldwide. 2018 put him at the centre of the Kerala floods story, Thallumaala is the wildly stylish fight comedy, and A.R.M - Ajayante Randam Moshanam has him in three roles across three generations.

Virus, Kilometers and Kilometers, Identity, Lucifer and L2: Empuraan complete the Tovino Thomas shelf.

Prithviraj, Dulquer and Nivin

Prithviraj Sukumaran leads Ayyappanum Koshiyum, the clash between a policeman and a retired soldier that everyone argues about, Driving Licence, Jana Gana Mana, Mumbai Police and Adam Joan. His earlier films include Classmates, Anandabhadram and the historical Urumi.

Dulquer Salmaan's shelf runs from Ustad Hotel, about a young chef and his grandfather's restaurant, to Charlie, Kali, CIA: Comrade In America, Solo, 100 Days of Love, Oru Yamandan Premakadha and King of Kotha.

Nivin Pauly brings Thattathin Marayathu, Premam, Love Action Drama and this year's Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, and Bangalore Days puts Nivin, Dulquer, Fahadh and Nazriya in one much-loved film.

The new faces

A new generation of stars now fills Malayalam cinema. Naslen became a household name with Premalu and followed it with I Am Kathalan, Neymar and this year's Mollywood Times. Mamitha Baiju shone in Super Sharanya, Premalu and Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, and Anaswara Rajan carried Super Sharanya and Rekhachithram.

Basil Joseph, already famous as the director of Minnal Murali, became one of the busiest actors in Kerala with Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, Sookshmadarshini, Maranamass and Athiradi. Arjun Ashokan turned up everywhere from Romancham to Bramayugam and Pranaya Vilasam.

Search any of their names in the search box and every film they lead comes up in one list.

The 2010s new wave

Around 2011, Malayalam cinema changed. A new generation of writers and directors began telling smaller, sharper, more everyday stories, and the films of that decade are still the ones people recommend first. Traffic and Salt N' Pepper started it, and 22 Female Kottayam, Ustad Hotel and Thattathin Marayathu followed.

By the middle of the decade came Bangalore Days, Premam, Charlie and Kali, all huge with young audiences. Then Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, Take Off, Parava, Sudani from Nigeria and Varathan showed how wide the new wave had grown.

It ended with Kumbalangi Nights and Virus in 2019, two films that many still name as the best of the decade.

Thrillers

Malayalam cinema is famous for its thrillers, and the list is full of them. Drishyam set the standard, Drishyam 2 somehow topped it, and Drishyam 3 continues the story. Kishkindha Kaandam slowly peels back a family's secrets, Rekhachithram reopens a forgotten case, and Officer on Duty follows a police officer through one dark night after another.

Joji is a quiet family crime story, Vettah a twisty police drama with Manju Warrier and Kunchacko Boban, Mumbai Police a thriller with a famous twist, and Iratta a haunting story of twin brothers. Kannur Squad and Rorschach give Mammootty two very different investigations.

The Thriller and Mystery category gathers them with the thrillers from every other language.

Action nights

Malayalam action has gone big in recent years. Marco, with Unni Mukundan, is one of the most intense action films Indian cinema has made, Turbo gives Mammootty a jeep driver who fights his way through Chennai, and RDX: Robert Dony Xavier is built around three brothers and a martial-arts showdown.

Aavesham mixes action with comedy, and Lucifer and L2: Empuraan bring Mohanlal's Stephen Nedumpally into politics and crime on a grand scale. King of Kotha gives Dulquer Salmaan a gangster saga, and Big B is the stylish original of the modern Malayalam action film.

For the full list, the Action category adds the Tamil and Telugu action hits.

Horror and fantasy

Malayalam horror has had a remarkable revival. Bramayugam is a black-and-white folk horror film set in a crumbling mansion, Bhoothakaalam a quiet, terrifying story of a mother and son in a house that seems to be turning against them, and Diés Iraé the newest addition.

The fantasy side is just as strong. Minnal Murali and Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra brought superheroes to Kerala, Anandabhadram is the classic tale of magic and sorcery, and Pretham 2 is the horror comedy with Jayasurya as the mentalist who talks to spirits.

The Horror and Fantasy category has them all, along with the fantasy from every other language.

Comedy

Malayalam comedy is gentle, sharp and very local. Romancham follows a group of bachelors who play with a Ouija board, Thallumaala is a stylish comedy about a man who keeps getting into fights, Nna Thaan Case Kodu takes a small theft all the way to court, and Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey is the story of a young wife who learns karate.

Kumbalangi Nights is the bittersweet tale of four brothers by the backwaters, Sudani from Nigeria the warm story of a football manager and his Nigerian player, and Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum a comedy set almost entirely in a police station.

From the classics come Ee Parakkum Thalika and C.I.D. Moosa, still quoted in every Malayali household, and from recent years Vaazha, Maranamass and Premalu.

Love stories

Malayalam cinema makes wonderful love stories. Premam follows one man through three loves at three ages, and its songs and scenes are part of Kerala's everyday language. Hridayam follows a young man from college into adult life, and Premalu is the funniest romance of recent years.

Annayum Rasoolum is a tender, tragic story set in Kochi, 100 Days of Love and Charlie are the dreamy ones with Dulquer Salmaan, and Kilometers and Kilometers is a road-trip romance with Tovino Thomas.

Super Sharanya and Pranaya Vilasam bring young, funny romance, and the Romance category gathers them all.

Dramas that stay with you

Some Malayalam films stay with you for years. The Goat Life follows a man forced into servitude in the Saudi desert, Take Off the true story of nurses trapped in Iraq, and Virus the fight against the Nipah outbreak in Kozhikode. 2018 tells how ordinary people saved each other during the Kerala floods.

Kaathal - The Core is a brave, tender film about a marriage, Pathemari a lifetime of work in the Gulf, and Parava a story of boys, pigeons and friendship in Mattancherry. Vellam follows a man's fight with alcoholism, and Trance a motivational speaker who becomes a preacher.

All We Imagine as Light, the Cannes prize-winner about nurses in Mumbai, and C/O Saira Banu, with Manju Warrier, complete a shelf of films worth every minute.

True stories

Many of the most powerful Malayalam films are based on real events. Manjummel Boys retells the 2006 rescue at the Guna Caves in Kodaikanal, 2018 the Kerala floods, Virus the Nipah outbreak of 2018 and Take Off the rescue of Indian nurses from Iraq in 2014.

The Goat Life adapts Benyamin's novel Aadujeevitham, based on a real man's years in the Saudi desert, and Vellam is drawn from the life of a real businessman who fought his way out of alcoholism.

Curry & Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case is a documentary about the Koodathayi murders, one of Kerala's most notorious crime cases, told through interviews and records.

Stories led by women

Some of the strongest Malayalam films of the last decade are led by women. 22 Female Kottayam is a revenge story that shocked audiences, Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey follows a young wife who learns to fight back, and C/O Saira Banu gives Manju Warrier a mother fighting for her son.

Take Off follows nurses in a war zone, Godha a young woman wrestler, and All We Imagine as Light three women in Mumbai. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra makes Kalyani Priyadarshan Malayalam cinema's first woman superhero, and Bhoothakaalam gives Revathi one of her finest roles.

They are among the films most worth watching with subtitles and sharing with friends.

Films for the whole family

For a family evening, Malayalam cinema has plenty. 2018 and Manjummel Boys are gripping true stories that suit every age, Minnal Murali is a superhero film children love, and Premalu and Romancham keep everyone laughing.

Bro Daddy, with Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran as father and son, is a light comedy, Twenty 20 brings almost every Malayalam star together in one film, and Kumbalangi Nights is a warm story of brothers learning to be a family.

Neymar, with two friends and their dog, and Vaazha, about a gang of young friends, are easy crowd-pleasers.

Malayalam classics

The Malayalam Classics category is full of films Malayalis rewatch every year. Spadikam, Kaalapani, Guru and Aaram Thamburan come from the 1990s, Narasimham and Ee Parakkum Thalika from the turn of the century.

The 2000s brought C.I.D. Moosa, Udayananu Tharam, Anandabhadram, Classmates, Big B and Twenty 20. Then the new wave of the early 2010s arrived with Traffic, Salt N' Pepper, Urumi, Ustad Hotel, 22 Female Kottayam and Thattathin Marayathu.

Classics are also the likeliest titles to stream free, so check Watch Now on each one.

Top rated

The Top Rated page lists the titles with the highest audience scores, counting only those with enough votes to mean something. Among the Malayalam films, Kumbalangi Nights sits near the top, with Drishyam, Drishyam 2, Premam, Bangalore Days, Ustad Hotel and Aavesham close behind.

Each title page shows the rating out of ten with its vote count in the details, so you can see at a glance whether a score comes from a handful of viewers or from thousands.

Brand-new films take a few weeks to gather their votes, so check back on the newest releases once word of mouth has spread.

Malayalam web series

WEB TV Series was the first category on the old DVDPlay, and Malayalam series have grown fast since. Kerala Crime Files follows police investigations through small-town Kerala, Poacher uncovers an elephant-poaching ring, Pharma follows a medical representative who stumbles on a scandal, and 1000 Babies is a gripping mystery thriller.

For lighter viewing, Perilloor Premier League is a village comedy about a reluctant panchayat president, Masterpeace a family comedy, and The Chronicles Of The 4.5 Gang and Love Under Construction the newer comedies. Thera Para and Samarthya Shastram are the earlier favourites.

Secret Stories: Roslin and Cousins and Kalyanams are this year's new series, each with dated episodes as they air.

Web series still running

Several of the series on DVDPlay are still making new seasons. From Malayalam, Kerala Crime Files, 1000 Babies, Secret Stories: Roslin and Cousins and Kalyanams are all expected to continue. From Tamil, Suzhal - The Vortex, Vadhandhi, Inspector Rishi, Mathagam and Iru Dhuruvam have more to come.

The Ongoing Web Series category gathers them all, and every series page shows its Status in the details. New episodes appear in the New Episodes list as soon as they air.

Add the ones you follow to My List, mark your place on the season page, and the next season will be waiting right where you left off.

Tamil Movie

Tamil Movie was the third line of the old category list, and Malayali audiences have always loved Tamil cinema. Coolie and Jailer with Rajinikanth, Leo and Master with Vijay, and Vikram with Kamal Haasan lead the list.

Maharaja is the surprising thriller with Vijay Sethupathi, Amaran the true story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, and Kaithi the one-night chase that started a cinematic universe. Vikram Vedha, Ratsasan, Super Deluxe, Soorarai Pottru and Jai Bhim are the modern classics.

For something gentle, 96 and Meiyazhagan are two of the most tender Tamil films of recent years. Many carry Malayalam audio or subtitles on the streaming apps.

Tamil web series

Tamil web series are some of the best in India. Suzhal - The Vortex is the mystery of a missing girl in a small town during a festival, Vadhandhi follows an investigation into a young woman's death, and Inspector Rishi mixes a police investigation with the supernatural.

Navarasa and Paava Kadhaigal are anthologies with some of Tamil cinema's best directors, Modern Love Chennai tells love stories from the city, and TamilRockerz is a thriller about the movie piracy world itself.

Mathagam, Ayali, Vilangu, Irai and November Story round out a strong list.

Telugu Movie

Telugu cinema brought the biggest films in India to Malayalam audiences, and most arrived with Malayalam versions. RRR, Bāhubali: The Beginning, Bāhubali 2: The Conclusion and Bāhubali: The Epic are the Rajamouli epics, and Pushpa: The Rise and Pushpa 2 - The Rule have Fahadh Faasil as the villain Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.

Kalki 2898-AD, Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire and Devara: Part 1 are the recent spectacles, and Sita Ramam, Hi Nanna, Lucky Baskhar and Jersey the heartfelt ones. Rangasthalam, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Geetha Govindam are the big favourites of the late 2010s.

2026 brings Peddi, with more Telugu releases arriving through the year.

Kannada Movie

Kannada Movie was the last line of the category list, and Kannada cinema has grown into one of the most exciting industries in India. K.G.F: Chapter 1 and K.G.F: Chapter 2 made Yash a national star, and Kantara and Kantara - A Legend: Chapter 1 brought coastal Karnataka's folk traditions to the whole country.

777 Charlie is the heartwarming story of a lonely man and a dog, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello – Side A a bittersweet love story, and Kirik Party the college comedy. Thithi, about three generations and a funeral, is one of the most admired Kannada films ever.

Mahavatar Narsimha was the animated surprise of 2025, Su from So the comedy hit, and Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups arrives in 2026.

Hindi Movie and series

The Hindi list runs from Dangal and Bajrangi Bhaijaan to Jawan, Pathaan, Animal and 12th Fail, with Dhurandhar, Saiyaara, War 2 and Chhaava from 2025 and Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Bhooth Bangla this year. Andhadhun and Tumbbad are the thrillers to seek out.

The Hindi web series are some of the most watched in the country: Panchayat, The Family Man, Mirzapur, Farzi, Paatal Lok, Delhi Crime, Kota Factory and Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, each with every season and dated episode.

Gullak, Asur, Criminal Justice and Special Ops complete a list worth a long weekend.

English Movie

English Movie covers the Hollywood side. This year brings Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, Project Hail Mary, Toy Story 5, Supergirl and The Mandalorian and Grogu.

The recent favourites are here too: Oppenheimer, Dune: Part Two, Top Gun: Maverick, The Batman, Superman, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Deadpool & Wolverine.

For families, Zootopia 2, The Wild Robot and Hoppers are easy picks, and most of the big releases carry Malayalam, Tamil or Hindi audio on the apps.

English series

The English series in WEB TV Series are the shows everyone is watching. Reacher, Slow Horses, The Pitt, MobLand and The Gentlemen are the gripping ones, Ted Lasso, Abbott Elementary and Ghosts the warm comedies.

Stranger Things, Wednesday, House of the Dragon and The Witcher bring fantasy and mystery, Better Call Saul, The Crown and The Bear are the prestige dramas, and The Good Doctor, The Rookie and 9-1-1 are the comfort shows with many seasons.

Every series lists each season and dated episode, and the New Episodes list shows what arrived this week.

Dubbed, audio and subtitles

Many films on DVDPlay are available in Malayalam even if they were made in another language. Start the film in the streaming app, tap the Audio and Subtitles icon, and pick Malayalam if it is listed. The big pan-India releases, from RRR to K.G.F: Chapter 2 and Kalki 2898-AD, usually carry it.

It works the other way too. Malayalam hits like Manjummel Boys, L2: Empuraan, Marco and Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra travelled across India in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, and English subtitles on nearly every Malayalam film make it easy to share them with friends from anywhere.

The dubbed guide and the subtitles guide walk through the steps.

HD, HDRip and data

Every row on the old DVDPlay ended with a quality word, usually HDRip. Today the streaming apps handle quality for you, adjusting the picture to your connection, and each app has a setting you can fix: data saver for phones, 720p for sharp HD on a tablet, 1080p for a laptop or TV, and 4K on premium plans.

On mobile data, data saver keeps a whole film comfortable, at roughly half a gigabyte an hour. On home Wi-Fi, choose the highest setting your plan offers. The runtime on every title page helps you plan: L2: Empuraan runs close to three hours, and most Malayalam films run between two and two and a half.

The HD word on every row means the title had a proper high-definition release. The quality guide has the details.

Browsing by year, genre and letter

Sometimes you want to wander rather than search. The years page lists every year from the 1990s to 2026, each with its own list, so you can find the Malayalam films of the year you finished school, or everything that came out last Onam season.

The genres page splits the whole catalogue into comedy, crime, drama, family, horror, romance, thriller and the rest, and the languages page does the same by language, from Malayalam and Tamil to Kannada and English.

The A-Z List puts every title in alphabetical order, one letter at a time, which is the quickest way to find a film whose name you half remember. Every one of these pages uses the same quick rows as the home page, so they load in a moment.

My List and your place

Every title page has the blue Add to My List button, and My List keeps the films you plan to watch and the series you follow, in the same quick rows as the rest of DVDPlay. It lives in your own browser, private to you.

For a web series, open a season page and press Reached this episode on the row you finished. DVDPlay remembers it, and the series page and My List show your place next time, which makes a long series easy to pick up again.

Export writes your list to a small file and Import reads it on another device, handy when you switch phones or want the list on a laptop.

New Episodes

The New Episodes list shows the latest dated episodes across every series, newest first, each line reading the series name, the season and episode number, the language and the air date. The same list sits on the home page under its own orange bar.

Tap a line to open its season page with every episode in order. Watch it, mark it, and your place is saved.

My List, the episode marks and New Episodes together make your own little TV guide, from Kerala Crime Files and Poacher to The Pitt and Reacher.

Watch Now and your country

Watch Now is the blue pill that takes you from choosing to watching. Press it on any title page and the grey Where to Watch box opens. Pick your country once, and Watch Now opens JustWatch for the title in that country, listing every service carrying it: JioHotstar, Prime Video, Netflix, SonyLIV, ZEE5, ManoramaMAX and Sun NXT in India, and the local services wherever you are, including the Gulf.

Each service shows how it offers the title, subscription, free with ads, rental or purchase, with the price. Your country is remembered on every page, and you can change it any time, which helps when you travel between Kerala and the Gulf.

New films usually start in cinemas and arrive on an app a few weeks later. Save them to My List and check Watch Now whenever you like.

Watching from the Gulf and abroad

DVDPlay has always had a big audience among Malayalis in the Gulf, in Europe and in North America. Watch Now works everywhere: pick the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States or wherever you are, and the list shows the services carrying the film in that country.

Many Malayalam films stream abroad on Prime Video, Netflix and JioHotstar's international versions, and services like Saina Play and Simply South specialise in South Indian films outside India. The prices and availability differ from India, which is exactly why the country choice matters.

Your chosen country is remembered on every page, so set it once when you move or travel and every Watch Now after that follows.

Free Malayalam movies

Plenty of Malayalam films stream free with short ad breaks. Amazon MX Player carries a big free library in India, and several Malayalam studios put full films on their official YouTube channels. Abroad, Tubi and Pluto TV carry free titles too.

Many mobile and broadband plans in India include JioHotstar, Prime Video, ZEE5 or SonyLIV in the price, so check your plan's benefits. Watch Now shows the free options in your country whenever a title has them.

The Malayalam Classics are the likeliest to be free. The free movies guide has more.

The app, your PC and your TV

DVDPlay installs as an app in two taps. On Android, open it in Chrome and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. On iPhone, open it in Safari, tap Share and choose Add to Home Screen. On a computer, use the install icon in Chrome or Edge. The app stays as light as the site, opens on Recent Updates, and keeps your list and your country.

On a smart TV, open the TV's browser and go to DVDPlay, or browse on your phone and cast the film from the streaming app. The simple list is easy to scroll with a remote.

The app guide and the TV guide have every step.

The old DVDPlay had a More Service bar with one line, Site Partners, and people still search the name with KLWap, MalluMv, Mallu Villa and Cinemavilla. They were all part of the same Malayalam movie-list scene, and most of them have vanished or keep moving.

The licensed homes of Malayalam cinema today are JioHotstar, Prime Video, Netflix, SonyLIV, ZEE5, ManoramaMAX and Sun NXT, with Saina Play and Simply South for many viewers abroad. DVDPlay points to all of them: open any title and Watch Now shows which one carries it right now.

The Site Partners guide tells the full story.

The addresses

The DVDPlay name has lived at many addresses. People still search most for dvdplay.in and dvdplay.com, and the captured pages came from dvdplay.best, dvdplay.guru and dvdplay.lol. Other endings came and went: xyz, icu, run, vip, cfd, net, me and life among them.

This DVDPlay goes back to the quick list people remember and builds a proper library under it. The simplest way to always reach it is to install it as an app, so the icon on your home screen opens the right place every time.

The addresses guide tells the full story, and the quick fixes guide helps if a page ever loads slowly.

A DVDPlay weekend

Need a plan? Friday night, something new: Drishyam 3 for the twists or Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra for the thrills. Saturday afternoon with the family: Premalu for the laughs, then Manjummel Boys for everyone.

Saturday night, a classic: Spadikam or Kumbalangi Nights. Sunday, start a series, Kerala Crime Files for the mystery or Perilloor Premier League for the smiles, and mark your episode before bed.

Save the rest to My List, and next weekend it will all be waiting.
